- The 911 has an ambidextrous safety but is not as "stiff" as the Sig(which is not ambidextrous. For me, no big deal. The Sig has been out for a while and the Springfield is a new line (model). Technically speaking, P238 is a pioneer in that regard. If you ever loved the iconic 1911, you will absolutely fall in love with P238 as well. Basically, P238 is “1911 mini”.

- Oct 02, 2010 · This is an old thread, but what the heck… Matt is entirely correct. I own a S&W Bodyguard 380 and a Sig P238. The Bodyguard is awful to shoot. Poor sights, long heavy trigger, and recoil that feels like someone is smacking your hand with a mallet. Its grip has a blocky shape like a 2×4 that digs painfully into your hand.
The Springfield 911 is much like the Sig P238, in that it's a (Colt Mustang clone) micro 1911 in .380, though sans the grip safety. However, the 911 has certain advantages that the P238 lacks, and certainly also over the Kimber Micro.
- I have 2x sig sauer p238 and this is basically the same thing with a thinner slide. If you don't care that this is a Springfield made gun, this is a fantastic deal. The Alpha doesn't have the ambi controls the non-alpha 911 have from the same company.

Calibers range from .45 ACP (the original caliber) and .40 S&W , though .357 SIG , 9mm , and 10mm, all the way to .38 Super +P cartridges. Well it’s all subjective but…. The Glock 26 is out. You can carry a Glock 19 IWB as easily as a 26. IMHO the 17 and 26 are obsolete and the 43/44 aren’t as good as the sigs.

While I won't name one round to rule them all, I can make some suggestions based on my personal research into an effective round for my SIG p238. For reference, this weapon sports a 2.7-inch barrel.

Nov 24, 2014 · In that regard, I think the Glock has two major competitors; the Ruger LC380 and the Sig P238. The LC380 is essentially a Ruger LC9 that’s been converted from 9mm to .380 ACP. It’s a hair bigger than the Glock 42, but looks like a giant next to it’s little brother, the Ruger LCP. This is a nice looking pistol. Made the mistake of showing the email to PH.
